SICKLE CELL DISEASE: HEARING OTHERS VOICE WITH THE DISEASE
A lot of people may not know that the whole month of September is Sickle Cell Month! I want to start a new project and interview different people that has Sickle Cell, to hear their stories and how has SCD affected their life. Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited blood disorder; a severe hereditary form of anemia in which a mutated form of hemoglobin distorts the red blood cells into a crescent shape at low oxygen levels. It is most common among those of African descent.

I want to be able to let a lot of people know about SCD and why it is so important. I feel like the promotion of Sickle Cell in general doesn't get the attention it deserves. The first person for my sickle cell project lives in Ghana, a 10-year old girl who suffers with the disease. I asked Paul to find out some information about this young girl and he sincerely came through for me.

Stella is a young girl from Ghana who lives with her parent,a brother and a sister. Stella has been living with Sickle Cell Disease for ten years now. One painful thing a Sickle Cell patient has are joint pains. As for 10-year old Stella,
she has been been having periodic attacks where her family have take to the
hospital or call for a nurse for some first aid.
Because of the SCD, she has
grown lean, but talks alright and lives normal, just with periodic attacks where
she becomes weak. Medication she takes mediation called Folic Acid, which is good for the iron level and some
other medications . Apart from that, she has accepted it as part of her life and goes on
her daily activities normally each time.

A JEALOUS MIND
A lot of relationships go through this thing called jealousy. It's like a drug that attacks the mind when another male or female specie gets too close. But why do people in some relationships get jealous?
I feel as if it's a little insecure issue of one's territory that leads them up to these irrelevant issues
I find it perfectly normal to be jealous, but don't always let your mate know every single detail of what's going on in your mind. For instance, if your boyfriend is going on a lunch date with one of his co-workers to discuss an upcoming project, in the back of your mind, you may feel jealous, but if there is trust involved, your relationship will work out just fine.
Here is a senerio
Angela and Johnathan have been dating for three years and the two them have been discussing the idea of getting married soon. Johnathan who is a construction worker for a huge company has been talking to another chick who works at the bank across the street. They have been spending a lot of days and evenings together. On the other hand, Angela trusts her man when he does come home late at night, but one day she found a letter in one of his pockets from another woman. Angela confronts Johnathan, but he denies it stating that he met a woman who secretly has a crush on him.
So in this particular case, what shall Angela do? Should she be too concerned and jealous or should she continue to trust Johnathan and continue making wedding arrangements?
Just remember in any relationship, there will be times where you feel jealous, but it's about how you control those feelings and not get out of control to the point where your partner decides not to be with you anyone.
