BLOCK THE NEGATIVITY...DON'T GIVE IN!

Brand new year! So treat yourself and go all out! Don't worry about the stress that sits upon your raging eyebrows and all you want to do is scream at the top of your lungs!

There may be times where you want to fight out all of your battles with hurting words, but it's best to just ignore it and block all negativity!  No need to cry anymore over the same things previous years ago, because then you won't be able to move on to bigger and better things.  The years aren't getting younger, but it's moving on--no matter what.  Time waits on no one, so it's best to bring more positivity into your life instead of stressing out over nothing.

Tips to Blocking out all the Negativity

1) When things seems to get heated in the situation, get out of there FAST!. This means do not under any circumstances entertain the negativity!

2) Think positive thoughts.  Sometimes when you have either dealt with negative people or a negative situation, it's best to cool down by thinking positive thoughts instead of moping and thinking about the negative things.  It's unhealthy!

3) Excersise! A great way to staying stress-free is to hit the gym a few times a week.  Your health is the most important so it's not healthy to be depressed and stressed on a daily basis.

Never give in to the cruelty of the world, so focus on the future and surround yourself with postive people in your circle!  When you move forward with life and positive vibes are entering your heart is a taste of pure reality and inner peace! Stay with the inner peace and never allow a negative person to destroy your persona!

Stay motivated!

Visualize your Visions

It's a brand new year and you  are still jotting down in your journal about what goals and visions you want to accomplish.  It's time to put those visions to the starting line of the race and see how far you can go with it!  Yes we all sometimes procrasinate....sometimes and put off important things on our to-do list and wait to the last minute to meet our goal or goals.  Just like that Everest commericial about going back to school, it's finally time to take charge of your destiny and live up to your visions!

One of my visions is to start my own business.  I have never dreamed of exactly visionalizing it, but I feel it's something that would be good at as far as branding myself and letting the world know who the real Patrice Rivers is.  When you have a goal, stick to it! That means if you have to write them on sticky notes and putting them on your bathroom mirror while brushing your teeth in the morning just for great motivation then do so.

There are lots of great tips to accomplishing your visions.  All is takes is great discipline and FOCUS!

1) Instead of writing down the number of months to achieve your goal (s), how about doing a little background research and jotting down some better ways to move forward with your visions? Each day you can write down in a notebook on what steps you can take to make your dreams come true

2) Go over your visions with people that you trust, such as family members and friends and listen to what they have to say about our visions.  You never know, they may spark a new idea with the ones you already have.  Two heads are better than one!

3) When you wake up in the morning (after your morning prayer) repeat your visions to yourself with 100 % confidence!  The more you say it, the more focused and determined you will become at achieving your vision (s) All it takes is patience and strong faith!

Continue to visualize what is put in your heart and let your instincts do the rest.  But stop procrasinating and do it! You will soon realize that once you living your dreams, things will start to go smoother and you can soon  relax and enjoy what God has intended for you to begin with!

SICKLE CELL DISEASE: HEARING OTHERS VOICE WITH THE DISEASE

A lot of people may not know that the whole month of September is Sickle Cell Month!  I want to start a new project and interview different people that has Sickle Cell, to hear their stories and how has SCD affected their life.  Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited blood disorder; a severe hereditary form of anemia in which a mutated form of hemoglobin distorts the red blood cells into a crescent shape at low oxygen levels. It is most common among those of African descent.

I want to be able to let a lot of people know about SCD and why it is so important.  I feel like the promotion of Sickle Cell in general doesn't get the attention it deserves.  The first person for my sickle cell project lives in Ghana, a 10-year old girl who suffers with the disease.  I asked Paul to find out some information about this young girl and he sincerely came through for me.

Stella is a young girl from Ghana who lives with her parent,a brother and a sister. Stella has been living with Sickle Cell Disease for ten years now. One painful thing a Sickle Cell patient has are joint pains.  As for 10-year old Stella, she has been  been having periodic attacks where her family have take to the hospital or call for a nurse for some first aid.
Because of the SCD, she has grown lean, but talks alright and lives normal, just with periodic attacks where she becomes weak. Medication she takes mediation called Folic Acid, which is good for the iron level and some other medications . Apart from that, she has accepted it as part of her life and goes on her daily activities normally each time.
